WebSphere Commerce Infrastructure Consultant - Chef, Puppet, Docker, Jenkins, UrbanCode

We are looking for highly motivated, self-starting individuals with experience implementing, deploying, configuring and supporting WebSphere Commerce solutions. Candidates must have 3-5 years experience of using the appropriate WebSphere technology.

The successful candidate will understand both the infrastructure and architecture of WebSphere Commerce, as well as the processes of installation and configuration, in both test and production environments. The role will include working across the full delivery life cycle, from pre-sales to production support. It's anticipated that most of this work will take place on customer site, but there will also be opportunities to work from home.

Our immediate focus is WebSphere Commerce with a long term view to adopt WebSphere Portal as part of our technical offerings. Any knowledge and experience of automation and Urban Code would be highly beneficial, as are knowledge of Service Delivery and/or ITIL processes.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience with WebSphere Application Server 7+, including installation and configuration of WebSphere Application Server in moderately complex environments
  • SSL installation and configuration
  • Solid network knowledge and understanding
  • Experience of wsadmin Scripting Ant/Jython
  • Technical and service documentation
  • WebSphere Portal or WebSphere Commerce
  • Automation using Jenkins/UrbanCode
  • Chef/Puppet/Docker
  • Experience of consultancy roles or customer facing environments

For our project work you will be expected to travel to client sites around 75% of the time.

Project work will include:

  • Working with project teams to ensure our solutions meet the organisation's strategic needs.
  • The implementation of project-led change of Middleware components to agreed timescales, budget and quality.
  • Provide handover of project deliverables, ensuring the client is operationally equipped to provide effective service/component monitoring.
  • Ongoing review, QA and influence of internal processes, technical implementation approaches and component-level build processes.
  • Supporting live service through swift resolution of live issues and proactive identification of risk.
  • Collaborating with internal and external parties in order to provide excellent customer service.

When not on customer site, you will contribute to the automation, innovation, continuous improvement and quality assurance of the processes we look to implement. Other responsibilities include creating POCs, or other such work that underpins our operations and supports the business.

Salary between £40,000 - £50,000
