To preserve confidentiality of sensitive information, the solution understands the context but does not store the screen content. The information stays on the computer of the user and all processing is done there. Only limited information is sent back to the secure server in the IBM Cloud.

The move to IBM Cloud

Initially, the solution was delivered as on-premises software, but Assima wanted to move to a software-as-a-service (SaaS) delivery model to reduce the time to implementation. The cloud would also eliminate any issues involved in working with multiple clients’ IT infrastructures. Additionally, the economic model of the cloud is better for Assima’s clients, as the solution can be scaled much faster than an on-premises offering.

Assima tried other cloud providers before deciding on IBM but found them lacking. The company needed reliability and security to meet the requirements of many of its customers, especially those in healthcare and banking.

Additionally, Assima’s leaders wanted more than just cloud services; they wanted a technology partner that could help enhance the solution with additional features such as AI.

Assima extended its intelligent application overlay to integrate IBM Watson APIs, to transcend the usual offering to provide users with intelligent AI driven responses and recommendations as they work, enhancing employee decision-making.

The 360-degree solution

Assima has used IBM Cloud for four years and has never experienced any denial of service or downtime. It is thus able to offer a very strong service-level agreement (SLA) to its clients who have saved millions of dollars in training costs, reduced the number of help desk calls and been able to deliver complex multilingual online training all over the world.

Time to market has been reduced by approximately 500 percent, from 20 days to just one day.

IBM is now offering the intelligent overlay solution to its own clients, so the partnership is a 360-degree relationship. Assima consumes IBM technology in its intelligent overlay solution and now IBM may resell the solution to its clients.
