My smartphone is my go-to device for a growing number of things. There are more and more apps offering services I can really use. But like a lot of other consumers, I wish I could do more. Wouldn’t it be great if I could get apps that could provide several related services from one convenient access point?
This is the new reality of the digital economy, and businesses need to adapt and change their traditional models to participate in this new digital era to deliver what customers want. Leading organizations have started to transform, and they’re utilizing APIs (application programming interfaces) to securely expose their digital business services to employees, partners and clients to drive innovation and create market opportunities.
So, banking business leaders, think of the possibilities available to your company by participating in numerous channels you don’t own. By selectively sharing your data and business service APIs with an ecosystem of partners and developers, you can expand your market reach and drive new revenue. The API economy is what allows competitors to quickly emerge in existing markets and create entirely new markets in months, even weeks. It is how industries reinvent themselves and how products shift from something you create to something you provide. In short, the API economy is the disruptor that is going to completely alter your industry.
To really embrace the API economy you need your entire organization to line up behind it, to believe in the possibilities and to be willing to rethink everything about your business. I am reaching out to you in order to get business and IT on the same page from Development & Operations (DevOps) to developing new channels and markets.
